FIBRE GEEKS have confirmed that services have been restored.
The recent outages and connectivity drops have been related to ongoing ESKOM power issues affecting the local fibre infrastructure. Although there is a primary battery backup solution in place, the extended ESKOM outage resulted in the batteries being depleted.
FIBRE GEEKS were able to implement a secondary backup power solution this morning, which brought fibre services back online while the current ESKOM power fault remains unresolved. This current fault appears to form part of the recurring ESKOM power issues affecting the local fibre infrastructure. The matter has been reported to the relevant parties, but no ETA has been provided for a longer-term resolution.
If you're experiencing connectivity issues, please follow these reboot steps:
unplug power cable for your GetWiza router
wait +-2 mins, then plug back in
wait another +- 2 mins for the service to re-authenticate
