Multiple subsea cables were damaged off the East Coast of Africa 12/05/2024. This break resulted in no international traffic being able to leave the country via the East and all traffic re-routed to the West of Africa. This has resulted in substantial congestion along the national long distance routes which may impact internet connectivity services, particullarly that of streaming.
